The Wednesday 15!
I'm challenging you to find 15 items you can remove from your home, preferably not just basic household trash, but if you must it can count too. Is there a penalty for not meeting the goal? Of course not. One thing is better than none, right? Is there a reward for meeting the goal. Yes, the joy of finding more space in your home for things you love. Notice how you feel letting these items go that you just don't need. Often it is a feeling of satisfaction and peace.
Even I'm amazed sometimes that I can come up with 15 items to let go of! I spent about 20 minutes looking around for things last night. I did have to open drawers and bins to find most of these. Since the house in good order for showings, most things are hidden anyway. I wanted to make quick decisions to keep it simple. In the end all the items I chose to let go of were easy decisions. These are things I won't use and don't want to use again.
From left to right, clockwise:
- racks to put on a bike (2)
- potpourri (not the vase)
- patterns and instructions (2)
- fabric pieces
- plastic tub
- plastic bags (2)
- candle tray
- hotel shampoo
- key rings (2)
- screw (very small probably from my computer)
- extra tool for carpet cleaner
- pipe cleaners
I probably could have convinced myself to keep several of these items, but the truth is we aren't and won't use them. It's time to move those kinds of things on. Others it was just time to let go of for various reasons. The plastic bags I really just found in the process of getting rid of fabric. I wouldn't normally count them.
How much time did you spend finding your 15 items this week? Did you find 15 items, more or less?
