Wednesday 15 - September 30, 2015

The Wednesday 15!

I'm challenging you to find 15 items you can remove from your home, preferably not just basic household trash, but if you must it can count too. Is there a penalty for not meeting the goal? Of course not. One thing is better than none, right? Is there a reward for meeting the goal. Yes, the joy of finding more space in your home for things you love. Notice how you feel letting these items go that you just don't need. Often it is a feeling of satisfaction and peace.

This is the last Wednesday 15 that will be posted on the blog for at least one month, maybe even the rest of 2015. I will still mention and encourage Wednesday 15 on the Organized Friends Facebook page. I'm creating space for 31 Days of Decluttering and Organizing in October and possibly some holiday preparation posts in the months that follow.

Here's what I found this week to let go of:
  • Two pillow cases, and a sheet set (since we bought a new set when the fitted sheet ripped)
  • Workout pants (irreparable hole)
  • 30+ Dental EOBs (explanation of benefits)
  • 4 Army dress shirts (no longer authorized to wear)
  • Army dress pants
  • 3 hangers
  • Tape dispenser (for a size I never use)
  • Bath towel
  • Hand towel
Seems to be a green and black theme!
(Not all items shown)
I've come across the towels and the tape dispenser in the past, but finally made up my mind this week that those items can go and no harm will be done! Of course, the hangers are a result of taking uniform items off them. I'm not a fan of wire hangers...so these really have to go!

I do want to commend all of you that have posted your results for Wednesday 15 in the past. It is inspiring to all of us reading. It helps to know we aren't alone in our clutter and desire for more organization and less stuff. I will still mention and encourage Wednesday 15 on the Organized Friends Facebook page. You are all encouraged to join whether you want to post or not.

See you tomorrow for 31 Days of Organizing and Decluttering!!
