Zone Cleaning: 15 Minutes in the Kitchen

I've been doing most of the previous zone cleaning early in my day. Yesterday, my day was different and I did my zone cleaning while in the middle of making dinner! I only had about 15 minutes while I waited for the pizza dough to rise and before I needed to chop ingredients.

Here is what I accomplished:

  • Wiped down dishwasher front
  • Wiped down refrigerator doors
  • Wiped down microwave door
  • Wiped down oven doors
  • Wiped down stainless steel trash can
  • Decluttered old food from fridge

I'm so glad I remembered to declutter the fridge! It was our night to set out trash for pickup on Friday. Perfect time to toss out the old food. I would have liked to have cleaned it out inside more thoroughly, but it was done fairly recently, so that will wait until next month.

Oh, look at how messy the counters are! I told you I was cleaning during meal prep.

My final zone cleaning in the kitchen will be to clean the inside of the microwave and do a quick review of all shelves and drawers looking for any items I should declutter. That should happen today, soon after this is posted. I plan to post an update on the Organized Friends Facebook page when I'm done.

I think FlyLady's Zone Two also includes the Laundry Room and Back Porch. I did a little tidy not long ago in the laundry room, so I'm skipping that this month. My back porch could use five to ten minutes of time to vacuum up the dead bugs and wipe off the glass table. I will do that before Zone Two cleaning ends on Saturday.

I will be back next week for Zone Three!
