Wednesday 15 - September 9, 2015

The Wednesday 15!

I'm challenging you to find 15 items you can remove from your home, preferably not just basic household trash, but if you must it can count too. Is there a penalty for not meeting the goal? Of course not. One thing is better than none, right? Is there a reward for meeting the goal. Yes, the joy of finding more space in your home for things you love. Notice how you feel letting these items go that you just don't need. Often it is a feeling of satisfaction and peace.

These Wednesday's come around so fast sometimes! I did find some more things that can leave our home. I found them over the course of the entire week, with several of the items being found at the last minute.

  • 5 magazines
  • 1 folder
  • 1 throw blanket
  • 1 strap to a camera case I no longer have
  • 1 plastic picture frame (was part of set, but I already got rid of the others!)
  • 3 spiral notebooks
  • 2 sheets of glitter paper (messy!!)
  • and many scraps of paper and a 2011 calendar went to the recycling bin
And here is the pile of paper I got rid of! I think I kept half of what came out of a drawer. The drawer does look much better now.

It was helpful to work on the drawer where this scrapbook paper was held. It was kind of stuffed in there after we moved in. I didn't like how it looked when I opened it...basically hard to find anything. So I took a little time to get it neater. I got rid of all the little scraps, and piled by color (yes, I really did). Once I had one pile, I slipped it back into a large ziplock bag. Not perfect, but much, much better! I like better. And I like that it resulted in some things to count for Wednesday 15!

Did you find anything to let go of this week? Was it while you were specifically decluttering an area? Or did you go digging to find those 15 items? Please share here your accomplishments or on the Organized Friends Facebook page. It's a closed group and you can join any time and only those in the group can see what you post and share. In other words your other Facebook Friends don't need to know!

  1. My cardstock collection is organized by color - it makes papercrafts so much easier! :D I have sadly not done any decluttering as of late. However, I did use some yarn from the stash, and the only yarn purchase I've made is for a Christmas present. So, I'm totally going to count that (though certainly three and a half skeins of yarn used doesn't count as 15 things xD ).
