Happy New Year!
Guess what? It's a leap year. That means an extra day to get organized or declutter this year!!
My brain is working on some organizational goals for the year, which I will post in the coming days. And then I will need to get working on them!
Today, I did a little tweak with storage, while I was drying my hair.
While I sleep I store my ring and the earrings I wear everyday in a little sunflower dish. I made it when my girls were little. It is probably over ten years old. And as you can see from the picture the paint is getting chipped. The Crayola clay seems to seem to be holding up though! In the past, I kept it in a drawer so I didn't seem to mind how it looked. But with less drawer space in our current home, it has been sitting on the bathroom counter.
So, the new plan is to donate my little dish, and use this box, received as a wedding gift. It's prettier and looks better on the counter. And now it has a real use, which it hasn't had before.
I'm happy with the my little organization tweak.
One item out, zero in. (I'm thinking of counting the number of items I actually declutter this year...what do you think?)
Do you make organizational goals? If not, do you have any idea where you might want to start? What is bothering you the most? Can you commit a few minutes a day to tackling that problem area?
I would love to see a run of numbers at the end of the year (or, throughout the year, or however you choose to do it) of things you've gotten rid of!
