I have picked ten spaces to declutter over the next ten days. You can join in and make your own list of spaces and spend just five or ten minutes in them and see what you can find that can go!
Today's space is a cabinet we have in our front entry. It's two drawers and a lower cabinet. The before pictures are below, and you will notice they are not stuffed, because I tend to lean toward minimalism at this point in our lives.
But I know that there are things in these spaces that I'm not using and don't need to keep.
Office supplies primarily in the drawers. I don't have a desk, so they have to go somewhere!
Bottom cabinet is primarily decorations...and a pencil sharpener!
This job took me about ten minutes. I definitely hemmed and hawed on some of those decor items. I don't have much, but if I'm not using them they should go, right?!
I couldn't part with some items made by my daughters (not yet anyway). I decided to let the following go: candle holders, a You Rock rock, wheat pennies, a lock (where's the combo?), extra reader glasses, drafting templates, and a paper cutter (which no longer cuts well).
I'm going to try to use this plate somewhere in my home. It was my grandmothers, but I'm not really attached to it. I don't have any memory of her using it. I think it's pretty!! If I don't find a good place for it soon, I'm going to let it go.
This picture shows some trash and a few things I'm going to relocate elsewhere.
And I'm sure you would like to see a couple after pictures:
That plastic bin on the right up there is full of all sorts of rocks and gemstones. I spent most my decluttering time trying to decide what to do with them. They are so pretty! I need to find a bowl of some sort so I can set these out occasionally.
Still wondering if I need to keep the electric pencil sharpener.
Day One of the Ten Days of Decluttering is complete!
Did you declutter a space today? Tell me about it here or on the Organized Friends Facebook group.
Wonderful
