Time for an extended meal plan!
I used to meal plan monthly. I let go of that habit awhile ago and tend to meal plan weekly. And almost every week, I dread the process. I have decided that while the month has already begun I will make a meal plan for the rest of the month!
I could say I'm doing this to help with the busyness of the season, I'm at the point in my Christmas preparations, that we really are in a slower pace of enjoying the season. I think this extended meal plan will simply take the annoyance of that task off my list for the remainder of the year!
My plan is to make meals that we normally eat. Learning new recipes while fun and often very yummy is not a task I want on my list this year. I might make an exception for our Christmas Day meal, which I still need to plan, too!
We will repeat meals this month. No need to have unique meals each day. We will simply repeat some of our favorites.
To save some time, I will make some meals ahead by doubling the recipe and saving half for another meal. I will also make some of the meals in my crockpot to save time in the kitchen. I'd rather be hanging out with my family this time of year.
I'm also planning that we will eat a couple meals at restaurants as the year draws to a close.
Ah, I feel so much better with a plan!
Do you think a meal plan for the rest of the year might help ease some stress of the season? What ways do you reduce the stress of planning and preparing meals at any time of year?
