Today's Christmas Cleanout report is another 'one and done' decision making experience.
Our youngest daughter's old student flute. She has two and she is most definitely keeping the nice one, despite not currently playing it.
We decided we are donating it. It is not worth selling. It is in very bad shape and would need a lot of work to bring back to playing condition. It's not worth any more of our time on it. She played it for EIGHT years starting in fifth grade and all through high school marching band. I feel confident we got our money's worth out of it. So much beautiful music played on it and the experience of learning to read and play music.
I'm sure someone will pick up to use as an art piece, a decoration, or possibly put the money into it to bring back to life for someone to play. It will find a home!
With no regrets, I say thank you for your service! I will consider this post the parting gift and it's lasting memory.
Can you make a final decision on something that you know should go? It's okay to really think through in what way you can be okay with letting it part your home. Just as I thanked the flute, you can be grateful for the memory or joy it provided. And if it isn't the right time now, it may be again in the near future.
Yes, I wiped a tear or two writing this. 😢
