Christmas Cleanout: Day 14 of 20

I promised you last week, I would take care of a closet that has become quite the dumping ground this month. Decor moved in, as well as many of the items we are donating from this Christmas Cleanout Challenge. It is packed full! 

The before photos first:

I had to start by pulling out this large grass decor piece. It was stashed in the closet, after we moved it to put up our Christmas tree. I'm pondering replacing it, but that may not come until January. 

I pulled all these items out too. These are some of the finds from earlier Christmas Cleanout decluttering. I have piles all over the house honestly. I'm not following my own advice for placing the donations in one place. Oops! 

The guitar, which we don't play and may give to our daughter, and these floor cleaning tools were relocated. The guitar is under a bed. And the cleaning tools in the hall closet with the broom and vacuum. You can see that closet in Monday's post. 

Moving those items above will make room to put the grass decor piece back at the end. But check out the closet now! Better, however, there is still more work to do.

All of these items below need to go (there's a pair of water shoes, a dress, and a padlock behind the mailing items). Several of these items I have attempted to sell with zero luck, so they will be donated. It is still just clutter! Clutter be gone!

I'm relocating the sign to the backyard porch. The light will go back into the closet; it is used when the tree isn't up to make the corner brighter. 

Ready for the final results? 

 

I will probably do a final box decluttering after all Christmas mailing is complete. For now, I want my stash available!! 

Below...a pair of shoes that are nearly new. These are listed on eBay and I really want to sell them. Maybe January when everyone is getting ready to get fit? The picture that is on the floor is an item I need to find a new place for OR I need to let it go. 

I did put the grasses back in the closet in that empty space by the picture. 

This side looks much better...nothing on the chair seat. I did find some reusable bags and tucked them into the shoe holder. Not really using, but thought 'just in case' I need to bag something up?! Maybe I should let those go...notice that decluttering is never perfect. But we make progress, and look again another time, right? 

Oh, and my wreath from fall (on the chair) did get put back in there as well. I'd like to find a hook or nail to hang it on the wall in the closet. Or maybe I need a wreath organizer or container. Hmm...

Huge progress! Except for those shoes still in the closet, all the items being donated are now in ONE spot on our guest bed. I'm getting close to posting a free ad on our local FB page with pictures. I wonder how long it will take for all of it to disappear?
