During my Christmas Cleanout, I have made the effort to declutter specific areas, like a closet. I have also made some 'one and done' decisions, specifically the flute and artificial tree. I also declutter random items here and there. They just pop out at me and I set aside for donation or sale.
Here's some of my random decluttering this month:
These curtain panels were in one of my daughter's room...in a drawer. We will be replacing her bedding soon, so these will no longer match. I sold them for $5!
A scarf I made and wore to a couple college band performances. It caught my eye a couple days after decluttering the front hall closet...remember the one that was packed full? College band is done and I don't wear a scarf down here in the south! Donating!
In my effort to replace an old pair of snagged gloves, I bought a new pair right after Thanksgiving. Later, I try on a coat to find out that I had already replaced this old pair (shown above) and now I have three pairs of black gloves. This snagged pair has to go!! It can get out of hand. 🤣
Also above are two beginner crochet dish clothes that will go into the donation bin.
I don't have a picture, but I bought new sneakers, so I pulled out an old pair to let go. Is that random? Maybe that is the one in, one out rule of decluttering. One item comes in, then declutter the old like item.
Do you have various methods of decluttering? Is random one of your methods?
Thanks for following my Christmas Cleanout! It's been motivating to have this place to share while my energy is high. If you aren't high on the decluttering energy, you might be in a few months, come back and revisit these posts!
